To All Students:
It is the mission of the Baltimore School of Reflexology to provide the highest quality of education. In order to keep up with the current advancements in reflexology we are re-structuring our curriculum and classes to better meet the needs of our various types of students. After much consideration and planning BSR is happy to announce our new class structure. By creating different “levels” of classes, we have also developed a curriculum that we feel will allow our students greater flexibility to achieve their reflexology goals.
The BASIC Level:
This is for students who are interested in using Reflexology on family and friends. This level will teach you the basics of Anatomy and Physiology as well as the necessary skills to do an effective reflexology treatment. This class will consist of 80 hours, 42 in classroom hours (3 (2 day) weekends) as well as 32 hours of independent study (which includes 25 documented foot sessions and 7 hours independent study).
This level will
not give you the number of hours required to take the ARCB National Certification Test. You will
not be thoroughly prepared with the information that you learn in this level. This level gives you a solid foundation to build your reflexology practice. It will give you the ability to work with family and friends but if you are interested in taking the education to the next level you will want to move on to the ADVANCED Level.
The ADVANCED Level:
This level is for students who are interested in taking reflexology to the next level working in a spa, a workplace, or even in a private practice setting either as a standalone modality or with other skills. These classes will focus on broadening your Anatomy & Physiology knowledge. It also includes additional hours in Theory, Areas of Emphasis, and Practice Management. This level will consist of 120 Hours, (3 (2-day) additional weekends) 42 in classroom and 78 hours of independent study (which will include 50 documented foot sessions and 28 hours independent study). You will be also required to acquire your CPR certification.
This level will prepare you for the ARCB National Certification Test. At the completion of this level, you will have a total of 200 hours of reflexology training, including 75 documented reflexology sessions.
The PROFESSIONAL Level:
This level is for students who are interested in working in a medical or clinical setting. This is a comprehensive 300 hour program that meets the highest educational standards in the industry. This is 3 Additional weekends (schedule to be posted) where we will focus on Applied A & P, Pathology, In-Classroom research projects, and writing treatment protocols. This level is a total of 80 hours (64 in classroom hours as well as 16 independent study hours). Also, students will need to complete 45 hours of in classroom continuing ed related to Reflexology. We will have more
information about this level and certification after January 1, 2012.
Please give us a call if you are interested in attending this level. This will be an intense level that will allow students explore and share their personal areas of interest.
We will be updating this page the first week of January with all of the details! Keep checking back and be assured that it is our goal to offer you the highest quality of reflexology education that we can.

Dear 2011 Students,
As the field of Reflexology continues to expand and grow, the educational requirements are becoming more defined. The Baltimore School of Reflexology is, as always, committed to maintaining the highest standards of education in our curriculum.
With this being said, we need to make an immediate change for any student that has begun or will begin classes in 2011. The in-classroom instructional part of our program will remain the same. We feel that our classroom instruction is giving our students an excellent broad based knowledge of reflexology. The independent study part of our program has been updated and revised.
We will now require only 3 books to be read for independent study, these books include: The Joy of Reflexology by Ann Gillanders, The Reflexology Manual by Pauline Wills, and Reflexology, The Definitive Practitioners Manual by Beryl Crane. There will a one page (5 questions) paper that needs to be completed for each of the books. A new requirement for the program will be a one page essay question on a reflexology experience.
Uf you have any questions please call any teacher or me personally at 410-213-1010. Our first priority will continue to be making you, as a student, successful. Please continue checking the “School News” section of the website for the latest up-to-date information.
